STREET CLEANING

At the Stratton Parish Council Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday 6th May 2014 a member of the public in attendance raised a question on the topic of street cleaning and the growth of weeds in gutters. There was a suggestion that individual householders might take responsibility for the area immediately adjacent to their property. It would appear from the photographs shown below that the idea has not been widely taken up. Dorset Waste Partnership is the agency responsible for street cleaning and their vehicle visited Stratton on Thursday 19th June. Unfortuntaely the vehicle does not pull up the weeds completely. In fairness the first five photos shown were taken before the street cleaning vehicle visited. The photos shown below the image of the vehicle, were taken when it had left the village.
